Released in 2016, the F-Pace is Jaguars first SUV, using a dash of DNA from its sister company Land Rover. Jaguar has focused much of its attention on ensuring the F-Pace is fun to drive but also practical. The F-Pace is simply stunning. Jaguar continues to impress with its new design both inside and out.

The F-Pace has won more than 70 global awards to date, most notably the 2017 World Car of the Year award and the World Car Design of the Year award.

Options of rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive are available. The four-wheel-drive system uses rear-drive in typical situations but sends up to 50% of the power to the front tyres when struggling for grip. With a ground clearance of more than 200mm and a wading depth of just over 500mm, it will get you safely home in almost any weather.

The F-Pace gets its sporty looks from the Jaguar F-Type; however, by using engineering technology found in Land Rover vehicles, this car will happily perform off-road as well as on the road.

The range of engines available is superb. Both petrol and diesel engines are available with four, six or eight cylinders. Varying power outputs are also available. The base model is a 2-litre, four-cylinder, 163PS diesel, RWD with 6-speed manual transmission, increasing in power increments.

The F-Pace SVR is the top of the range, which comes with a 5-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine, with 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD. All are outstanding engines. Given the Jaguars weight of over 1.7 tonnes, a more powerful engine would be a better option to maintain performance.

Jaguar has fitted the F-Pace with one of its most exceptional interior designs. It uses parts from the XF and XE models, along with some all-new features. It comes with Jaguars InControl Pro infotainment system, which adds a 10-inch touchscreen. Buttons are gone. It operates intuitively like an iPad.

Other features include smartphone connectivity, allowing you to 'screen share' your smartphone using either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, and Navigation Pro, to name just a few.

The optional Head-up Display (HUD), gives all essential information to the driver on the windscreen. The F-Pace has a new optional feature available, 'Dual View'. The 10-inch touchscreen will convert into a split-screen, allowing the passenger to watch a film while the driver views the navigation.

Jaguar has always designed their vehicles with luxury and stylish interiors. The F-Pace is no exception, with several options available to suit everyone.

For that perfect driving position, Jaguar has made the seats fully adjustable. The steering wheel can also adjust in four directions. There are plastic sections around the interior, interspersed with soft leather finishings, so it doesn't feel inferior to its rivals.

Space and practicality in the F-Pace is not an issue. There are many smart storage spaces in the cabin, and the roof height provides plenty of headroom. The rear seats can recline, giving extra comfort and luxury to back-seat passengers.

Jaguar built the F-Pace with practicality in mind and fitted the sizeable 650-litre boot, with a powered tailgate as standard. With the rear seats folded away, capacity in the boot increases to 1740-litres. Its main rival, the Porsche Macan, can only offer 500-litres or 1500 litres with seats folded away.

The whole of the F-Pace range has an impressive array of safety features. These include; front and rear parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition and Isofix child seat fitting. The F-Pace was crash-tested by Euro NCAP in 2017 and achieved the top five-star score.

The F-pace is a delight to drive, making full use of the chassis and rear-wheel drive system. There is a tremendous amount of grip and stability, giving extra confidence when cornering at speed or just cruising. Jaguar has the steering tuned just right. It provides enough feedback to inspire you to push the limits. The balance and handling are fantastic. It gives a composed feel, which will ensure families love the journey.

To improve the ride quality, Adaptive Dynamics Suspension is available. Drivetrain and stability control systems offer a great driving experience, no matter the surface.

There's an array of wheel options, ranging from 18 inches to a massive 22-inch rim. Although the 22-inch wheels look amazing on the F-Pace, they do sacrifice some of the ride quality. An excellent choice would be to opt for the 20-inch wheels if your budget permits, increasing curb appeal while maintaining handling and stability.

If you're thinking of entering the SUV market, then you must seriously consider the Jaguar F-Pace. It offers style and comfort, combined with sporty looks, handling and performance. It's perfect for enthusiastic drivers, young and old. Providing all the practicality, a family would need, whether cruising across Europe or driving across the mountains of Scotland.

With a plethora of optional extras, you can customise the ride to suit your needs.

Take a test drive in an F-Pace; you'll soon see why it's Jaguars fastest-selling vehicle ever!
